Tour of Hunters Farm – Sunday 12th October 2014 at 3:00pm

Hunters Farm 6 January 2010

Hunters Farm 6 January 2010

Following the highly successful tour in May this year, there will be another tour, starting at 3:00pm on Sunday 12th October, for DACS members and their guests.

Numbers have to be limited so if you are intending to come please RSVP by email to darwellconservation@hotmail.com.  Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.  If you came on the last tour, in May, you are very welcome to come again – there were several things we didn’t have time to do on that occasion.  If there is an over-subscription, priority will be given to people who were turned away from the May tour.

It is entirely free to DACS members, guests and non-members will be £5 each, all children free.  All proceeds go to DACS funds.

If you don’t know how to find Hunters Farm see http://huntersfarm.net/map

The afternoon will include a tour of the old farm buildings and some ancient farm paraphernalia including the hop press (see http://huntersfarm.net/2011/07/04/the-hop-press/ ), an opportunity to meet the flock of pedigree Shetland sheep, view the fields and recently planted woodland, and listen to an exposition of the farm’s off-grid electricity technology.  If that seems too structured you are welcome to wander around under your own steam.  The tour will finish with tea and cake.

If you are planning to come, please let us know your main area of interest: (a) tour of the land (b) farm buildings and machinery (c) exposition of off-grid technology.  We will attempt to structure the tour accordingly.
